Josh Hawkinson throws out first pitch at Mariners game, nearly kills Robinson Cano

Mr. Double-Double? Yes. Mr. Pitcher? Absolutely not.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Hawkinson does a lot of things well. He's a good basketball player. He excels at scoring double-doubles. He can change batteries in smoke detectors better than someone of average height. But one thing he needs a little work on: Pitching.

The Washington State senior forward got the opportunity to throw out the first pitch in Tuesday's Mariner game in Seattle. He had the velocity and the distance, but the accuracy, needs a little help. ROOT Sports never showed it, but Zane Hopen caught it on Twitter Video:

Ugly. But he recovered with the Fernando Rodney arrow shot... Which is weird because he kid of looked like Rodney in that pitch.

Hawkinson knew it wasn't his greatest attempt... And he clearly felt bad for endangering one of Seattle's highest paid players.
