The Washington State baseball team has struggled greatly in their first year under Marty Lees. Going 18-33 overall and 10-17 in the conference, things have not gone the way originally hoped.

On Tuesday, the Cougars will have a chance to add a big positive to their season with a win over a Washington team that has lost only 19 games this season. The Cougars will host the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Yakima at the Yakima County Stadium. A stadium they have not played in since the 2001 season.

Washington State is coming off of losing a series 3-1 to McNeese State. The Cougars snapped a 5-game losing streak on Saturday which originally started against Washington on May 15.

With the final week in conference play starting, both teams will be hungry for a win but for different reasons. The Cougars will look to finish the season strong starting Tuesday and finishing with a 3-game series against California. Washington will be looking to snag one more win before taking on Utah in a 3-game series for first place in the conference starting on Friday.

The Cougars and the Huskies saw each other just a week and a half ago when the Cougars took the series 2-1 in Seattle. Washington State won the first two games of the series by a combined score of 16-5 but lost the final game 6-4.

This game will be considered non-conference as these two teams usually play one game a year that is not counted towards conference play.
