A documentary about the life of former WSU football player Steve Gleason, which chronicles his life battling ALS, is set to be released in select theaters around the country on July 29, and a trailer is making the rounds to promote it.
We already know that the documentary, “Gleason,” is itself is a bit of a tear jerker, thanks to our viewing of the screening at the Seattle International Film Festival, but the trailer itself captures much of that emotion. Be careful before watching — you might need a few tissues handy:
As I’ve mentioned before in previous stories on Gleason, this really hits home for me, since Steve and I were born just a couple of weeks apart. I have three boys, and it’s hard for me to imagine being in his place. This trailer only drives that home.
We don’t yet know which theaters will be showing the movie, but I think it’s safe to say the movie will be showing in Seattle and Spokane. When we know more, we’ll pass it along.
