The WSU women's soccer schedule was released yesterday and will feature 10 matches on the Pac-12 network. So soccer fans will not lack opportunity to see what Todd Schulenberger's squad can do in his second season as head coach. The Cougars are coming on their fifth straight NCAA tournament appearance and hopefully with some stability in the coaching department for the first time in three years, they can return and advance.
The new schedule features some top non-conference opponents as the Cougars will face BYU, Santa Clara and TCU among others. All but two of these matches will be played in Pullman. Matches with BYU and Santa Clara will open the season before the team travels north to face Gonzaga.
Pac-12 play opens with Colorado before concluding on Dad's weekend against Washington. In between watch for Pac-12 network games against Stanford, Arizona State, and UCLA. The women's soccer team has been WSU's most consistently excellent program in the last five years and let's hope the success continues this coming season. With top players such as goalkeeper Ella Dederick returning optimism is high. Here is Coach Shulenberger on the upcoming schedule as well as an interactive schedule below.
"We have a challenging nonconference schedule that will help us get prepared for another exciting season in the premiere soccer conference of the Pac-12."
