ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??
Well, you still have to wait a little while longer, but not that much longer, as WSU announced today that the team’s fall camp in Lewiston, Idaho, will begin on Saturday, August 6.
As we teachers like to say, that’s only 19 more get-ups before we (sorta) have football again!
The Lewiston camp will last until August 14, when the team will return to Pullman to continue preparation for the season opener against Eastern Washington on September 3.
If you’re planning on attending any of the open practices in Lewiston, the team won’t be officially releasing practice times until the week before camp. However, each of the past two years they’ve practiced everyday, and everyday they’ve practiced at 2:30 p.m., so you probably can make your plans accordingly. We also assume it will again be at Sacajawea Junior High; if it’s not, we’ll let you know.
This will be the fourth year WSU has opened its fall camp in Lewiston under Mike Leach. The move was necessitated in 2013 by the construction of the football operations building, but Leach thought the bonding experience was valuable for the team and has now turned it into an annual tradition.
