Washington State Junior quarterback, Luke Falk, was added to the Manning Award watch list on Monday afternoon. Falk has quickly started to make his presence felt in award watch lists after setting a school record 38 touchdown passes and helping the Cougars win their first bowl game since 2003,
Falk has already been named to the Davey O'Brien Award, the Maxwell Award, as well as the Walter Camp Award watch lists for the upcoming season and has been talked about in the Heisman conversation from a few people.
The Manning Award is an award that is given to the best quarterback, and is the only quarterback award that takes bowl game play into consideration. The award was created in honor of the Manning family (Archie, Peyton, and Eli) collegiate success and was created in 2004.
Gabe Marks, River Cracraft, Robert Lewis, and Keith Harrington all return and were all in the top-5 in receiving yards last season. These four make up for 2,609 of Falk's passing yards. Dom Williams, who is now playing for the San Diego Chargers, finished second on the team.
With four of his top 5 receivers returning next year Falk can only increase on his fantastic numbers from last year. He finished the season completing 447 of his 644 passes while only throwing 8 interceptions for 4,561 yards in only 12 games. He finished first in all of college football in passing attempts and completions as well as passes and yards per game.
