WSU just finished an amazing week where they knocked off two top ten teams in a row. Due to her performance in these great wins, Kyra Holt was named the espnW player of the week. The senior star had already been named the Pac-12 player of the week after the Cougars defeated No.4 Washington and No.9 UCLA. Holt recorded 21 kills and 14 digs in the win over the Huskies. The last two games also got her to 1,000 kills and digs for her career making her the fifth Cougar to do so.
Coach Jen Greeny emphasized Holt's all-around game to ESPN.
"Teams focus on her offense, but she's a solid passer, a great server, and defensively, she does great things as well," Greeny said.
Holt is coming off a junior season in which she was named All Pac-12 conference. The Hercules, CA native appears to making a run at the Pac-12 player of the year this time around with the team getting off to a 12-2 start.
