Chanelle Molina named Pac-12 women's basketball freshman of the week

After leading the Cougar women's basketball team in scoring over the past week, freshman Chanelle Molina was named the women's basketball freshman player of the week by the Pac-12. The Cougars landed their first conference win of the year on Sunday against the Oregon Ducks and broke a 6-game losing streak.

Molina averaged 14 points over the three game stretch against Washington, Oregon State, and Oregon. On Sunday in the win over the Ducks, she scored her first 20+ point game of her young career. Over the three game period last week, she shot .444 from the field and .333 from 3-point range while leading the team in assists.

On the year Molina has shot .492, averages 11.1 points per game, leads the team in assists with 3.6 per game, and has scored double digits in each of the last nine games.

The Cougar women's basketball team will host UCLA at Beasley Coliseum on Friday, January 6th at 7 pm.
