After a rough weekend, Washington State received some good news as Ahmir Crowder, a three-star defensive tackle prospect from Los Angeles, announced that he’s a Coug.

Crowder announced last night that he had picked up an offer from Roy Manning and the WSU coaching staff, so he clearly wasted no time in pouncing on his first Pac-12 tender. Vanderbilt and Purdue have also extended offers to the Crenshaw product.
The 24/7 Sports Composite ranks Crowder as the No. 122 overall defensive tackle prospect in the 2018 class and the No. 11 defensive tackle prospect in California.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 280-pounds, Crowder is a true defensive tackle prospect, which is something the WSU coaching staff has been unable to land in recent recruiting classes. Crowder shows a good burst off the line, spending a lot of time in the opposing backfield.
Crowder becomes verbal commitment No. 18 for the Cougs, though he’s just the second defensive lineman in the 2018 class, joining defensive end Brennan Jackson. The current WSU class currently sits at No. 6 in the Pac-12 and No. 40 overall, but they’ll likely move up a bit with Crowder now in the fold.
