The Washington State Cougars moved up one spot after their bye week in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, checking in at lucky no. 13.
Unlike last week, the latest rankings hardly shifted, at least at the top. Only two teams in the top 12 moved: the Miami Hurricanes traded spots with the Clemson Tigers. The Hurricanes are now no. 2 and Clemson is no. 3. Those two teams will meet in the ACC Championship Game in what will basically be a play-in game (though should that game be Miami's only loss of the season, the Hurricanes could still have a strong case).
Each Pac-12 team not named USC jumped one spot. The Trojans remained at no. 11, while the Washington Huskies jumped one spot to no. 17 and the Stanford Cardinal moved to no. 21.
The Cougs are 3-0 against teams in the latest rankings—Boise State is no. 23—and only the Oklahoma Sooners and Georgia Bulldogs can say the same.
