The No. 18 Washington State Cougars have returned to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California, looking for both a 10th win and a shot at redemption after last year’s disappointing performance in the same game.
The opponent is the No. 16 Michigan State Spartans, another tough-as-nails Big Ten team that features an excellent defense — the kind that has given WSU’s Air Raid fits over the past two seasons.
That said, the Spartans don’t have much in the way of offense, and the Cougars’ Speed D — which has been the leading unit on the team all season — could be poised for another big game.
Will it be another low-scoring affair, like last year’s game, which ended 17-12 in favor of Minnesota? Vegas seems to think so; the total is set at 47.5 (although it has been climbing, with the vast majority of the money coming in on the over).
Additionally, the Spartans are 2.5-point favorites over the Cougars.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT on Fox Sports 1, and you can find all of our coverage below.
