As we continue to close in on the new December signing period, the Cougars are starting to ramp up their official visit weekends. This weekend features a couple of players who have been committed for a while along with four coveted prospects according to 247sports.com. Official visit schedules are very fluid so don’t be surprised if there are some changes. Here is a primer:
S Aashari Crosswell 6-1 185 Long Beach Poly:
Crosswell is the most acclaimed recruit visting this weekend as he is a 4 star recruit who is considered one of the top 10 safeties in the country and the 14th best player in the Golden State. He could form a formidable safety combo with the already commited Dangelo McKenzie. Crosswell holds 24 offers and has already visited Nebraska and Arizona with WSU and UW to come. Recruiting experts put USC as the current favorite though.
OLB Quen Head 6-2 215 Hutchinson CC:
Every year it seems like the Cougars look for athletic linebackers in the JUCO ranks. Head continues to fit that mold. The Forsyth GA native is considered the 4th best JC linebacker by 247. Louisville and Utah seem to be the Cougars main competition for Head who could be a fit at the WILL or RUSH positions in Alex Grinch’s defense.
WR Brandon Gray 6-5 172 Detroit Cass Tech:
The long-time Cougar commit is taking his official visit after committing to WSU back in the summer. He looks to be a great fit as an outside receiver.
S Halid Bjibril 6-2 185 Los Angeles Cathedral:
The former high school teammate of Renard Bell was committed to Oregon State, but opened up his recruiting after the ouster of Gary Anderson. One of the top 75 players in the state of California is also being recruited by UW, Utah and USC. Hopefully his connection with Bell can help the Cougars win a tough recruiting battle.
OT Cade Beresford 6-7 270 Woodinville:
This is a biggest official visit for the Cougars this weekend. He recently received an offer from USC, so if the Cougars can get him to shut down his recruitment after this visit, it would be huge for this class. Beresford is probably the most highly-touted lineman this year so far.
LB Jermayne Lole DE 6-2 255 Long Beach Poly:
Lole is a three star defensive end who has offers from WSU, SDSU, and Arizona Hopefully the Cougars can get another quality defensive lineman in the fold.
