WSU Football Recruiting: Alec Kuzmack signs his letter of intent

The big offensive tackle from Eagle, ID officially signs with the Cougs

Student Sports Photos

Nearly eight months after offering his verbal commitment to Washington State University, Eagle, Idaho, offensive lineman Alec Kuzmack made it official by signing his letter of intent today.

Kuzmack, a composite three-star lineman, is the lone commit this year from the state of Idaho. At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Kuzmack is well on his way to being the size of a typical Mike Leach lineman and has been sold on WSU since July. The top lineman in the state also received offers from Boise State and Colorado State.

As mentioned, Kuzmack has been rated a three-star prospect by the major recruiting services. 247Sports ranks Kuzmack as the 106th OT in the nation and Scout ranks him the top-rated recruit in Idaho.

Kuzmack comes to Washington State with a bevy of linemen by his side, and seems to have the size to give himself a head start.

Scouting Report

Blocks downhill well, maintains balance with low center of gravity on lateral first steps. Good double team blocker, hits and releases to second level quickly. Good awareness of defenders’ location and angle, seals the hole reasonably well. Above average athleticism. Pass sets need work on depth of kick and hand placement. Projects to guard.
