It's the only reason some high school kids still know what a fax machine is: Signing Day.
After finishing just outside of the top 50 in last year's Scout recruiting rankings, the Cougs are expected to put the momentum from their third bowl game in four seasons to good use. The recruiting service now ranks the expected Cougar class at 40th in the nation, ranking 3 of the commits as 4 star athletes and 17 more as 3 star players. (What do those star rankings mean? Jeff Nusser has you covered with his yearly primer here)
While you wait for those fax machines to fire up, you can catch up on some of our coverage leading up to the big day today. We've had plenty of coverage previewing the 2017 class right here on CougCenter. You can see all of the names and read our takes about each position class on our recruiting big board. You can read the offensive version here, and the defensive edition here. More of a listener than a reader? We get that too. Britton Ranford joined Michael Preston this week on the CougCenter Hour to talk about all the guys about to sign on the dotted line. If you haven't listened to that yet, I would highly recommend it.
But enough about the previews... Once the action starts, we'll have you covered from every angle.
- Stories and recaps of every athlete that signs his name on the dotted line will hit the site as soon as the NLI runs out of the fax machine.
- The legendary CougCenter live chat makes its much anticipated return.
- Breaking news update when the unexpected happens.
- An up to the minute scholarship count to let you know where the program stands in 2017 and beyond.
- And SO MUCH more....
Then, once all the smoke has settled, Britton and Michael will be back with a new edition of the CougCenter Hour on Thursday to wrap everything up.
Get ready Coug fans. The future is now.
