Washington State started out their season a day late as their game on Friday was rained out and eventually rescheduled to Saturday. That unfortunate luck continued on Monday as their series-finale against Sacramento State was rained out, this time not being rescheduled.
Washington State's season opener turned double-header on Saturday did not start this year like they had planned. The Cougars dropped the first game 10-2 and followed that up with a 6-4 loss. They found their first win of the season on Sunday in a 4-3 comeback victory after a 3-run 8th inning fueled by a 2-run home run by catcher Cory Meyer.
The Cougars will start another four game series on Friday against Loyola Marymount University to finish off their two weeks in California. It wont be until March 3-5 when Marty Lees and his team return to the Palouse when they will host Stephen F. Austin for another four game series.
