WSU rallies to take the series from Oregon

Marty Lees WSU Athletic Communications

WSU baseball hadn’t taken a series from Oregon since 2011. The Cougars had a chance to change that on Sunday, but for the first seven innings of the game it didn’t look very promising.

The Cougars trailed 5-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. That’s when the rally began. WSU got on the board with a run in the seventh. The Cougars added three more runs in the eighth to make it 5-4.

WSU still trailed by a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. That’s when Justin Harrer came through to clinch WSU’s first series win again Oregon in six years. Harrer’s two-run double brought home the win.
