Star Washington State Cougars quarterback Luke Falk was named to two more national award watch lists on Wednesday after being named to the Maxwell award list earlier this week.

Falk was named to the watch list for the Davey O’Brien trophy given to the nation’s top quarterback. He was a semi-finalist for this award last season. Thirty quarterbacks are on the watch including fellow Pac-12 signal callers Jake Browning, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold and former WSU recruiting target Brett Rypien.

He also was named to Johnny Unitas award watch list which takes into account contributions on and off the field. Contenders must be a fourth-year junior or senior on track to graduate. Falk was a finalist for this award last year.

This is not much of a surprise as the senior was in the running for a number of awards during his junior season in which he threw for 4,468 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also is considered a top prospect for next spring’s NFL draft.

Look for Falk to also be on the watch list for the Walter Camp award which will be announced Friday.
