It was a rough weekend for WSU baseball

The college sports world was rightfully focused on March Madness this weekend, but while No. 16 UMBC was busy upsetting No. 1 Virginia, there were other college sports happening. The Washington State baseball team, for example, opened Pac-12 play against UCLA.

Let’s check the recaps from WSUCougars.com to see how that series went:

3/16 - “Cougars Rally In Ninth But Come Up Short at No. 14 UCLA”

3/17 - “Cougars See Late Lead Slip Away at No. 14 UCLA”

3/18 - “Eighth-Inning UCLA Rally Upends Cougars”

Things could be better. The Cougars are now off to an 0-3 start in conference and the sweep dropped them to just 4-12 on the season. WSU has now lost five straight games and nine of its last 11.

At least there are only a few more days until March Madness returns ...
