Mark it down as a “saw it coming from 32 miles away” announcement, but WSU makes it official: their opener against the Wyoming Cowboys this season will be on the CBS Sports Network. The mystery of the kickoff time was solved at least!

CBS Sports Network has been a long time of the Cowboys’ conference home, the Mountain West so this makes all the sense in the world. The Mountain West is partnered with ESPN as well but Washington State and Wyoming doesn’t quite fit the bill during an opening weekend with so many other marquee match-ups.
The Cougs are traveling to Laramie after playing the front end of a home-and-home against the Cowboys in 2015, a game they won 31-14 but was really much closer than the final score indicates. The good news for WSU is Wyoming will be without stud quarterback Josh Allen, who is expected to be picked fairly early in the first round of the NFL Draft tomorrow night. Don’t take Craig Bohl’s team lightly though, they have been improving steadily under his leadership and traveling to the highest-altitude stadium in the country (more than 7,100 feet above sea level) will create its own host of problems.
To steal a Slack joke from Sherwood, if you, like most people, don’t have CBS Sports Network, you’ve got four months to a find a bar in which to watch this one. Literally any bar.
