The former WSU lineman is late due to personal reasons

Cole Madison was scheduled to begin training camp this week and make a case to start for the Green Bay Packers. However, all has not gone to plan and the former WSU standout has missed the opening practices of camp.

Madison, who was drafted in the fifth round, is reportedly dealing with a personal issue which has prevented him from reporting to Green Bay. Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy refrained from sharing specifics, but did note that Madison’s absence came as a surprise. McCarthy gave no timetable for a return.

While the the news is far from ideal, it is not the end of the world. As long as he can show up soon enough and prove to be valuable, all will be forgotten. Best of luck to Cole as he deals with this situation and starts his career in the NFL.

Before getting to the links, I wanted to say goodbye to the CougCenter community. This is my last week as an author at the site and it’s been a terrific experience. I will really miss writing about the Cougs for y’all, but on the bright side I get my Thursday nights back. A big thank you to Jeff and everyone else who makes CougCenter awesome. It’s been a great few years, and I look forward to becoming a commenter. Go Cougs.
