After leading the Cougars to a 59-24 victory over Eastern Washington, quarterback Gardner Minshew II was named Pac-12 offensive player of the week. He was joined by Travell Harris who was named the special teams player of the week as well. This is the first conference award for any Cougar player this season.
Minshew went 45 of 57 for 470 yards and two touchdowns while hitting nine different receivers in the win this past weekend. He led the team on 83, 98 and 99 yard drives in three of his seven drives that ended in touchdowns. On the Cougars second possession of the second half, Minshew marched the team down the field going 7 of 7 for 91 yards to get the Cougs to the eight yard line where he then handed it off to James Williams who ran it in to cap off their 99 yard drive.
He has already found his go-to receiver in Tay Martin as the two have connected 24 times for 290 yards and three touchdowns through three games. Martin finished the game on Saturday with 13 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Harris made sure those who came to Pullman saw something they had not seen since the 1999 season when he returned a kick 100-yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. He tallied three returns for 125 yards in the game.

These Pac-12 Player of the Week nominations are the first awards given to a Cougar this year.
This wasn’t the only Cougar who earned an award this week as Jahad Woods earned the conferences 12 Best top play of the week with his interception in the third quarter.
