The late signing day is approaching on February 6th and some of the candidates for WSU’s few remaining spots are coming into focus. 247sports.com is reporting that the Cougars will have two visitors for the weekend of January 25th. Junior college offensive lineman Jimmy Price and high school wide receiver Sione Vaki will be traveling to God’s country. We covered Price in an earlier article about Dontae Powell departing the recruiting class. Vaki is listed as a safety by 247, but the article (paywall) on Cougfan.com has him as a wide receiver. Vaki is also being hotly pursued by Utah as well and has a visit planned to Salt Lake City on February 2nd. 247 has him as the 78th best player in the state of the California. The Brentwood native previously visited Utah State as well. Looks like Mike Leach couldn’t resist going after another receiving prospect with only two on the board. Here are some highlights.
Another hot prospect of interest is running back Jordan Wilmore. With the departures of Caleb Perry and James Williams the Cougars are certainly thin at the running back position. An addition of a 4 star USC commit would certainly make everyone feel a lot better right? Wilmore has already visited the Palouse and then put this out on twitter the other day.

The 5-foot-8 200 pounder will be a tough get as he has visits scheduled with UCLA, Utah, and Arizona State as well. 247 has him the 3rd best All-Purpose back in the nation. He certainly would be a great fit in the Air Raid.
Last but not least, there is the persistent speculation the WSU will sign another grad transfer quarterback after the success of Gardner Minshew this year. Eastern Washington signal caller Gage Gubrud seems like the most plausible candidate if this happens and he has followed some of the coaching staff on twitter. He is also looking at Utah, Boise State, Mississippi State, TCU and UCLA. Here is a look at WSU’s recruiting thus far.
