This will be the second game to kickoff in the afternoon this season

The Washington State Cougars announced on Monday that their game against the Arizona State Sun Devils on October 12 will kickoff at 12:30 pm PST in Tempe, Arizona. The game will be aired on Pac-12 Networks.

The Cougars will be coming off of a much-needed bye week after dropping two big games to UCLA and Utah while the 20th ranked Sun Devils (4-1) were finding stride after beating California 24-17 last Friday.

This will be the second afternoon game for the Cougars this year as they have been getting the late game from the conference including three of their games starting at 7 p.m. or later. Arizona State has not gotten much of a break in their scheduling this year either as their only game before 7 p.m. came when they played at Michigan State, a 10-7 victory over the Spartans.

Because of the conference rotation, the Cougars and Sun Devils have not played each other since 2016 in Tempe when the Cougars came back from down 14-3 in the second quarter. They would go on to win 37-32 after holding off a late game surge by the Sun Devils in the 4th quarter. The Cougars have won the past two matchups between the two.

The Cougars will return home following their game against the Sun Devils as they host Colorado for homecoming on October 19.
