Podcast Vs. Everyone: Will the WSU defense actually get better?

We’re live from Single Hill Brewing in Yakima!

NCAA Football: Washington State at Utah Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Episode 44 of Podcast Vs. Everyone is here, and we have the answers to the question everyone is contemplating: Which Single Hill Brewing fresh hop beer is tastiest?

No? That’s not the question foremost on your mind?

OK, fine, let’s talk about what’s in store for the Washington State Cougars defense, which lost defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys after he resigned late last week. However, since we were in Yakima together for the annual fresh hop ale festival, we did record from Single Hill’s tap room — the brewery is Coug-owned — and we do have thoughts about the beer, but not before we dive right into WSU’s defensive situation.

Show rundown:

  • Beer talk: It’s FRESH HOP SZN.
  • WSU (9:45): Claeys is out. Does it mean the Cougs will be better on defense going forward? We’re skeptical. Let’s also take a stab at how Mike Leach might fill the position going forward.
  • Special Guests! (32:30): How about a little roundtable action with our guys Rob and Brian from Coug-owned Flatstick Pub? We’ve had them on the show before, and they just happened to be at Single Hill, so they hopped on to talk Cougs with us. They also updated us on the pub’s new locations (including Spokane), as well as some of the new games they’ve got in development that sound super fun (you can see a couple of sneak peek pictures in the gallery above). There’s even a special offer in there for podcast listeners!
  • Special Guest Three! (50:30): Craig interviews KC from Single Hill about what’s going on at the brewery, which makes some outstanding beer.
  • Special Guests Four and Five! (58:00): For our closing segment, we welcomed Jeff’s wife, Sarah, and Craig’s dad, Steve. You can only imagine where the conversation went.

Fair warning, we do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
