Cougar volleyball loses to UCLA in three straight sets

But soccer got a dominant win on Thursday!

Only two schools have shutout the Cougar volleyball team this season, and one of them did it for the second time Friday night.

Your no. 22 Washington State Cougars welcomed the UCLA Bruins to Bohler Gym for some Friday night volleyball action, but it was the visitors leaving with a 3-0 win. The Bruins won 27-25, 25-17 and 25-22 to take the W. UCLA also won 3-0 back on Oct. 4. The other school to win three straight sets was Iowa back on Aug. 31.

The loss drops WSU to 18-5 overall and 7-4 in the Pac-12. WSU hosts USC tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, the Cougar soccer team blasted Utah 4-1 Thursday night in frigid weather. Morgan Weaver had two goals in the win. WSU hosts Colorado on Sunday and travels to Seattle to play Washington to end the season on Nov. 8. Then it’s tournament time.

It may be the second weekend without football this fall, but WSU’s outstanding volleyball and soccer teams are still at it. If you’re in Pullman this weekend, catch a match.
