I, for one, had been waiting for this gorgeous slice of pie to make a comeback. Thank goodness that it has!

The last time WSU donned the gray-white-crimson away combo was in 2018, an away win against the Colorado Buffaloes that was frankly closer than it really should have been. It is a step away from what you’d consider their “traditional” Apple Cup away get-up of gray-white-gray, or really silver-white-silver, but they’ve already worn that combo this year with a relatively stellar but still not great result.
With this game being what it is, I’m completely fine with doing whatever you need to do to get rid of the voodoo, the curse, whatever. It probably helps that this away combo looks really, really sharp, incorporates all the school colors (to help placate those who scream “IT’S CRIMSON AND GRAY” at the tantalizing all-anthracite get ups) and it a bit of a throw back to the “good ol’ days”.
No idea what the Washington Huskies are wearing but no matter: it won’t look as good as this.
