I’m not sure how many of you know this, but at heart, we — the hosts of this particular podcast — are actually basketball junkies. And with the Washington State Cougars opening up Kyle Smith’s first season in charge on Thursday against the Seattle Redhawks, combined with the bye week for football, we jumped at the chance to put our nerd hats on and talk some hoops.
Show rundown:
- Beer: Jeff is having a beer he discovered pretty quickly that he didn’t like, while Craig found himself some big beers at the tap room down the road before settling in with an interesting pilsner from Fort George.
- WSU hoops (16:00): We are absolutely fired up for Kyle Smith’s first season at the helm of the Cougs. Let’s talk about all the reasons why, and hit some of the highlights of the upcoming season.
- Miscellany (45:00): Jamire Calvin is redshirting. Bummer. Aron Baynes is suddenly destroying the NBA. Not a bummer! Let’s laugh at UW a little, because that’s always fun. And then let’s talk about the Pac-12 — would you rather Utah or Oregon emerge from the conference?
