Once again, football coach Mike Leach has brought national attention to Washington State University as he has been named a speaker at the acclaimed Sloan Analytics Conference at MIT.
It is an honor for @Coach_Leach to represent WSU at the upcoming MIT Sloan Analytics Conference! #GoCougs https://t.co/iZm9OWN9KB

The Sloan conference was founded in 2006 by current Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and Kraft analytic group CEO Jessica Gelman. It has been widely recognized as the yearly meeting where the smartest people in sports get together to discuss the increasing role of analytics in the global sports industry.
Other featured speakers besides coach Leach this year include author Malcolm Gladwell, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, Ringer CEO Bill Simmons, ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro and Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker. Prominent athletes such as Saquan Barkley, Larry Fitzgerald, and Sue Bird will also be attending Sloan. The conference will be held this Friday and Saturday. Leach will be speaking with bestselling author Michael Lewis (Moneyball, The Blind Side) in Going Deep With Mike Leach — The Most Innovative Mind in Football. Gotta say it brings a smile to my face hearing that title.
