A week after weather forced the Cougars original home opening series to be relocated to Nevada, the school announced that there will be some changes to the times of their new home opener against California State Northridge this weekend.

The first game will now be at 1:00 pm on Friday instead of the original 4:05 start time. The second of the three game series will continue on Saturday at 1:00 instead of 2:00 pm and the finale will remain the same with first pitch coming at noon.
The Matadors (5-6) are coming off of a dropped series against #17 Michigan where the Wolverines took the first two before the Matadors managed to win the finale in the second game of a double header. They will however play one more game before heading North to Pullman on Tuesday when they host St. John’s.
The Cougars (4-7) have won three of their last four games including a 16-2 victory over Nevada in the first of their three game series in which they dropped the middle game. After a rough start to the season, the Cougars seem to have figured out what they are doing on both offense and defense as they have outscored opponents 30-17 in their last four games.
After this weekend, the Cougars will be on the road at UNLV, Arizona State, UC Irvine, and Loyola Maramount before returning home to take on Stanford starting March 29th for a three game series.
