The month of May is peak rank random college football things season. Teams, players, mascots, bars, and of course coaches. 24/7 Sports recently took a shot at the coach ranking and Mike Leach fared quite well.

Leach was ranked the No. 6 Power Five coach. He is one of five coaches from the Pac-12 to make the top 25. Only Chris Petersen was ranked higher among Pac-12 coaches. The other coaches ahead of Leach include Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, Lincoln Riley and Jimbo Fisher.

Here is what author Brad Crawford had to say about Leach:

A master of doing more with less, Leach is an Xs and Os extraordinaire and draws up crafty passing concepts in his sleep. He finished inside the Top 25 five times over a decade at Texas Tech and has since resurrected Washington State from the crypt into national relevancy

Leach has fared quite well in coach rankings this offseason, but No. 6 is the highest praise yet.

Where should Mike Leach rank among the top college football coaches?
