Will Robert Franks end the WSU NBA Draft drought?

It’s been eight years since the Golden State Warriors made Klay Thompson the No. 11 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft (decent pick, btw).

It’s also been eight years since a WSU player was selected in the NBA Draft.

That could change this week, although it will take a bit of a surprise. Robert Franks is among the players hoping to be selected on Thursday in the 2019 NBA Draft. The NBA Draft pundits don’t predict much of a chance for the streak to end. Franks isn’t mentioned in most mock drafts and checks in at No. 85 on the top 100. However, the second round of the NBA Draft is often very hard to predict as teams select wild cards. It only takes one team to fall in love with Franks’ skillset.

Even if he doesn’t get drafted, Franks will assuredly land a NBA Summer League invite. But, we will know much more later this week.
