Cougar Punter gets double recognition

It’s safe to say that July 24, 2019, will be a day that Oscar Draguicevich III remembers. First, the Washington State Cougars punter was the only player from the team named preseason first team all-conference by the media members who cover the Pac-12. Later, he was named to the watch list for the Ray Guy Award, which is given to the nation’s best punter. The list included 26 names from across the country.

Draguicevich III averaged 45.7 yards per punt last season after transferring in from Temple Junior College. He also placed 15 punts inside the 20 yard line while being named all-Pac-12 honorable mention as a redshirt sophomore. He was given one of the 25 scholarships available for this year’s recruiting class over the off season for his exceptional work on the field.

Last year’s performance by Draguicevich was a revelation after Cougar fans were forced to watch three different punters alternate the previous year, including wide receiver Kyle Sweet. Now the special teams unit is complete as return man Travell Harris was named preseason all-Pac-12 honorable mention. Kicker Blake Mazza is solid as well.

Congrats to Mr. Draguicevich on his well-deserved recognition!
