The legend of Gardner Minshew II continues to grow. The former Washington State Cougars quarterback will become the first Mike Leach quarterback* to start an NFL game today when his Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Houston Texans.
If you live in some parts of Texas, New Mexico, a sliver of Oklahoma, parts of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and a small part of Alabama, you can catch the game on CBS starting at 1 p.m. EST.
The rest of you? I hope you have NFL RedZone, or find a local bar that does (EDIT: Or NFL Sunday Ticket! I have neither.).
Minshew, as you know, is starting in place of the injured Nick Foles. It’s been nice to see the rest of the nation and NFL fans—who clearly do not overlap a ton with college football fans—discover Minshew and all that makes him who he is, like jock strap stretching, his mustache and more.
And oh by the way, this was making the rounds on Twitter yesterday, but this is from the Alamo Bowl flight and not Minshew’s flight to Houston:

Another former Mike Leach quarterback could also see some time. Luke Falk was signed this week to the New York Jets’ active roster after starter Sam Darnold came down with mono. Falk will back up Trevor Siemian on Monday against the Cleveland Browns.
*We’re talking Mike Leach as a head coach, so Tim Couch doesn’t count.
