While former Washington State quarterback Luke Falk was making his first appearance in an NFL game for the New York Jets, the Cougar football team landed two big commitments for the 2020 season. Julian Ripley and Moon Ashby both announced on twitter their commitments about 10 minutes apart from each other.

Ripley made his announcement first at 7:41 pm on Monday when he de-committed from San Diego State and announced that he would be joining the Cougs in the same tweet. The 6’6” 250-lb offensive tackle is the third offensive lineman to commit to Mason Miller. Out of Rancho Cucamonga, California, the three star lineman has been flying under the radar during his recruiting and looks to be a diamond in the rough for Mike Leach and the Cougars.

He held offers from San Diego State, Idaho State, and Southwest Minnesota State. He committed the Aztecs back in June and took his official visit to Pullman a few weeks ago and ultimately decided that playing Pac-12 football was the route he wanted to take.

Just over 10 minutes later at 7:52 pm the Cougars landed the 51st ranked outside linebacker in the nation in Moon Ashby. The 6’4”, 200-lb linebacker out of Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California held offers from Fresno State, Kansas State, Utah State, and San Jose State.

Earlier this summer, Ashby was named to the Polynesian Bowl and just last month was named to the 2019 Polynesian player of the year watch list.

With Ripley and Ashby committing to the Cougars on Monday, the 2020 total is now at 13 and is shaping up to be a great one for Leach and the Cougars.
