A year ago today, Gardner Minshew II was waking up after leading the Washington State Cougars to a 31-0 win against the San Jose State Spartans in his second game at WSU.
Today, Minshew woke up fresh off throwing for 275 yards and two touchdowns in his NFL debut.
Minshew wasn’t supposed to see action for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but with Nick Foles suffering a serious injury, Minshew came in and looked like he was back playing in Martin Stadium. Minshew completed 22-of-25 passes, including his first 13.
According to Elias, Gardner Minshew's streak of 13 consecutive completions to begin his career is the longest streak by a player to start their career who debuted over the last 40 years. The previous longest over the last 40 years was nine by Brad Johnson in 1994.

Foles suffered a fractured left clavicle and is out “indefinitely” as he is set to have surgery on Monday. The Jaguars could bring in a veteran quarterback, either in free agency or through a trade. Or, they could just let the Minshew era roll on.
