Kick off time set for Cougs vs. UCLA, game picked up by ESPN

It will be Chip Kelly’s first visit to Pullman as the head coach of UCLA.

UCLA v. San Diego State

It’s #Pac12AfterDark season, again.

All the remaining games on the Washington State Cougars schedule following this Friday’s tilt with the Houston Cougars are subject to the 12 or 6-day selection window and the first one will be right after dinner time. The school announced today the Pac-12 opener against the UCLA Bruins will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday, September 21st. The game was also picked up by ESPN, making it two straight weeks for the Cougs on the Worldwide Leader.

This is Chip Kelly’s first trip to Pullman as the head coach of the Bruins and the team’s first since 2016, a mostly forgettable 27-21 win for Wazzu. The Cougs get lucky and will have an extra day of rest thanks to this week’s game being on Friday night while the Bruins will be headed to Pullman from Pasadena after what is likely to be a shellacking at the hands of the No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners. Although the seat isn’t too hot on Kelly yet, a fourth straight loss to begin the season would likely crank the heat up quite a bit.

Remember as well: this is the all-anthracite game so make sure that’s what color you’ve got on if you’ll be in attendance!
