Washington State Cougars coach Nick Rolovich raised a lot of eyebrows this week when he revealed (to his regret) that he had chosen a starting quarterback for the season opener at the Oregon State Beavers — but that he wasn’t going to tell any of us who that is.
Of course, that didn’t stop us from trying to read the tea leaves, figuring it was between Cammon Cooper and Jayden de Laura. Well, lo and behold, Theo Lawson of The Spokesman-Review says it’s going to be de Laura; and while we recorded this before that news broke, we definitely have a bunch of thoughts on what it means for him to be the starter.
We also spend some time talking about the absence (departure?) of Lamonte McDougle, as well as the announcement of the conference portion of WSU’s basketball schedule.
Fair warning: We do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
(But if you do like it, please leave us a five-star review — it helps other people find the podcast.)
