As the other CougCenter authors can attest to, the process for finding links for the morning post is usually uneventful. Search Google news for some links, see a few game recaps, maybe a preview or two, possibly even some recruiting news.
Every now and then an unusual headline pops in. That was the case for the post today, with some very interesting Houston Cougars news popping up in my searches.
Houston coach admits DeJon Jarreau bit Cincy player, suspends him one game
That got me thinking, and sent me into the CougCenter archives to find the strangest headlines I could. Who could ever forget the weed bust of 2010:
Or the time Drew Loftus got caught with full sized bottles of alcohol in his pants:
There was also the time Ivan McLennan was arrested for pointing an airsoft gun at a student, JUST WEEEKS AFTER BEING TOLD TO NOT POINT AN AIRSOFT GUN AT PEOPLE.
I couldn’t find this one in the CougCenter archives, but we simply could not publish this post without including this Xavier Hicks incident.
I’m not sure anything can top a player putting rubbing alcohol in his teammate’s contacts, but I’m also sure I’m missing some classic bizarre headlines in WSU history.
What do you think is the strangest Cougar-related headline?
What we learned from Arizona basketball’s win at Washington State - Arizona Desert Swarm

Stanford Football 2020 Opponents: Washington State
Bottom Line: Rolovich’s profile seems aligned at least in terms of results and team balance (offense>defense) with what Coach Leach had made the Cougars. Getting the Cougs on The Farm in year one for Coach Rolovich seems like as good a time as any to break the losing streak presuming the Cardinal is not too battered from their encounter in South Bend the week before.
