Podcast Vs. Everyone: Breaking down the Cougs’ NFL roster chances

And should we be worried about recruiting?

NCAA Football: Senior Bowl Practice Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports

Last week’s NFL draft resulted in just one former member of the Washington State Cougars hearing his name called — wide reciever Dezmon Patmon, who went to the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round.

And yet, it was a puzzling non-pick that got most of our attention: that of former quarterback Anthony Gordon, who ended up signing as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks.

We discuss what might have happened there, as well as break down the chances that Patmon and Gordon — as well as their UDFA teammates Easop Winston (Los Angeles Rams) and Fred Mauigoa (Carolina Panthers) — can make an opening day roster next fall.

But wait! There’s more!

  • Recruiting (51:00ish): WSU has zero football commits, a topic Theo Lawson explores in the Spokesman-Review. We’re ... kinda worried? But not really.
  • NCAA NIL (1:02:00ish): A committee has recommended that college athletes should be allowed to make endorsement money. We are absolutely for this and don’t think it will make things worse for a program like WSU — in fact, it might make it better!
  • NCAA VIDEO GAMES? (1:12:00ish): Could this mean a return of the NCAA franchise? Let’s talk about video games.

Fair warning, we do use naughty words from time. You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care.
