In what I believe is the first time in Hot Cougar Action history, we have some Hot Cougar Swimming Recruiting Action. The Cougars received a commitment Taylor Schababerle, according to Chandler Brandes of Swimming World.

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Washington State University!” Schababerle said, via Swimming World. “I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who helped me to make this decision. Go Cougs!”

I’ll admit, I’m not very up on the swimming recruiting scene, but according to Brandes this appears to be a strong addition to Matt Leach’s Cougar swimming program.

Schababerle will make a big impact for the Cougars next year as her best time in the 500 free would’ve ranked third on their lineup last year while she would’ve been their second-fastest 1000 freestyler.

Schababerle will join the Cougars for the 2021-22 swimming season.

It’s been a busy time for Cougar swimming news. Earlier this month, Leach announced the addition of assistant coach Kate Moore.
