Our Cougs are in Eugene, ready for a fight

Good morning, Coug fans! Today our Washington State Cougars head down to Eugene and face off against number 13 University of Oregon Ducks. Tip off is at 5 pm on Pac 12 Network.

This game is going to be interesting. It’s not our first time playing UO, in fact- about a month ago they beat us 65-69. However, a lot has changed for Washington State.

UO has a few star players, one of whom is even Tik Tok famous. Her name is Sedona Prince, a 6’7” Forward. Not sure if/how much she’ll play as she’s documented having issues with her leg.

UO’s leader in points, field goals, rebounds and free throws is Nyara Sabally, a redshirt sophomore from Berlin. She averages 12.5 points per game, closely followed by Erin Boley who puts up 11.5. Sabally is a 6’5” Forward while Boley is 6’2”. Sabally also leads in turnovers, so WSU needs to be on guard, and not let her sneak the ball.

Boley is also number two in terms of field goals, averaging 4.6 a game.

The three point category is led by Taylor Mikesell, who averages .433% and makes around 2.2 a game.

Te-Hina Paopao leads in assists, and the freshman seems committed to getting the ball to someone with a better shot.

The Ducks are pretty well spread, most of the highs are closely followed by only one number lower. They all seem to know how to work as an engine, a dynamic that can be very familiar to our Cougs. I think with how much our team has grown, this could be an interesting match up, and ideally an even better upset.

We’ll find out, today at 5 on Pac 12 Network.
