This is the second award this season for both Jackson and Jehlarova

PULLMAN, WA - OCTOBER 16: Washington State EDGE Brennan Jackson (80) runs out of the tunnel prior to a PAC 12 conference matchup between the Stanford Cardinal and the Washington State Cougars on October 16, 2021, at Martin Stadium in Pullman, WA. Jack Ellis/CougCenter

The Pac-12 announced on Monday that Washington State defensive lineman Brennan Jackson and middle blocker Magda Jehlarova have earned Pac-12 weekly awards. Jackson, named Pac-12 football defensive lineman of the week, earned the same award on October 4th. Jehlarova, named volleyball defensive player of the week, was also named defensive player of the week on September 27th.

Jackson helped lead the Cougars to their third consecutive win, all against Pac-12 opponents, on Saturday when they took down Stanford 34-31. He finished with six total tackles including one sack. With under a minute left in the game and on 3rd and 13, Quinn Roff would sack Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee and force a fumble. Jackson jumped on the fumble and secured the Cougars fifth straight win over the Cardinal.

Jehlarova helped lead the Cougs to their fourth consecutive win with a 3-0 win over Oregon State on Friday and another 3-0 win over #13 Oregon on Sunday. She finished with 15 total blocks in the two matches to go along with her 18 kills. The two 3-0 victories over the Oregon schools are the first sweeps of the two on the road since 2001.

Jehlarova and the rest of the Cougar volleyball team will look to continue their shutout streak on Friday at 6 pm when they host #15 Stanford and then California on Sunday at noon.

Jackson will look to earn his third weekly conference award next week when the Cougars host BYU at 12:30 on Saturday. That game can be seen on FS1.
