On Sunday, Tom Brady secured his seventh Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers 31-9 victory against the Chiefs. More importantly, that win gave Deone Bucannon his first ring.
The former Cougar safety began this season with the Atlanta Falcons, but was signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad in early January, just in time for the playoffs. He was then signed to the active roster following Tampa Bay’s victory against the Saints. Bucannon saw time on special teams in both the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.
After the game, he had plenty to celebrate:

Bucannon becomes the first WSU player to win a Super Bowl since Destiny Vaeao won with the Eagles in 2018. Dom Williams was also on the Philadelphia team, although he spent the season on injured reserve.
Let’s take this opportunity to watch Bucannon obliterate opponents during his time at WSU.
Congrats, Deone!
