Podcast Vs. Everyone: WSU should be back even stronger after historic season

The Cougs lost a heartbreaker in the NCAAs, but bigger things are coming.

AUSTIN, TX - MARCH 21: Washington State forward Ula Motuga (15) stares down the opposition prior to the Women’s NCAA Tournament First Round matchup between the USF Bulls and the Washington State Cougars on March 21, 2021, at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX.
Ula Motuga and the rest of the Cougs should be back even stronger next season as they go for back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.

The Washington State Cougars made a quicker exit than we were hoping for from the NCAA women’s basketball tournament, but that didn’t stop us from celebrating what was an amazing and historic season for the program.

Looking back is good — and there’s plenty of game breakdown of the narrow loss to South Florida — but it’s also important to look ahead to what the program needs to do in order to take a step forward next season.

We also have some fun talking about the Pac-12’s surge in the men’s tournament, and what that’s doing for the Cougs’ standing in the kenpom.com rankings — WSU has moved up more than 20 spots since the beginning of the tournament without even playing! We explain how that happens.

Also: Volleyball, soccer, and baseball talk!

You’ll probably hate it. We don’t care. We also use naughty words from time to time. You’ve been warned.
