The Cougs tip off in the Pac-12 tournament tonight.

WSU women’s hoops wrapped up the regular season with a 61-52 victory over Washington on Sunday, completing a season sweep of the Huskies and claiming their third consecutive victory in the Boeing Apple Cup Series.

In Kamie Ethridge’s third season at the helm, the Cougars enter the Pac-12 tournament with a winning record for the first time since 2014-15, and claimed the most conference wins (9) since 2013-14. The Cougs will now play in Las Vegas tonight at 5 p.m. (on Pac-12 Network) against the Utah Utes with a shot of solidifying their first NCAA tournament bid in 30 years, and just the second appearance in program history:

Against the Huskies, Estonia native Johanna Teder led the field with 23 points, a season-high and second straight game scoring double digits (11 points against Utah). Despite trailing by as much as 11 in the third quarter, the Cougs took control late in the second half and finished on a 30-10 run. Freshman phenom Charlisse Leger-Walker — who this week was named the conference’s freshman of the year — had a relatively quiet night by her standards, scoring 13 points (11 of which came in the second half).

A good showing in the Pac-12 Tournament could be the icing on the cake for this historic year of women’s hoops, and they aren’t done just yet. Go Cougs!
