Kyle Manzardo named first-team All-American

The best first baseman in the country? We knew that.

Washington State Athletic Communications

Good morning, Coug fans!

Exciting news on the personal front- today is my dad’s birthday! Everyone say Happy Birthday KC!

And exciting news for WSU baseball player and star of our hearts, Kyle Manzardo was named first-team All-American this week. He is the first Coug player to receive this since 1990, and the second player in school history to be considered a two-time All-American.

This is a huge achievement by title and by nature of being tapped in- seeing as Collegiate Baseball only names one player for each position to the official first team, which just reiterates something we’ve already known: Kyle Manzardo is the top first baseman in the country.

He’s already giving some interviews, so here’s one:

During preseason he was named third-team All-American, and it’s no secret he’s had a killer season with the Cougs. He’s landed at fourth in the Pac-12 for hitting with a clean .365, second in RBIs (a nice 60), and he’s had multiple 24-hit games this season!

Kyle, we’re all so proud of you- it’s no secret considering we named our twitter after you. Looking forward to the next season of Cougar baseball- ideally full of fans.

I hope everyone has a great weekend- go Cougs!
