Washington State incoming freshman Brae Cole was named to the BoCoPreps.com All-Region first team, Front Range League first team, as well as the Colorado High School All-State team as an honorable mention. The 5’7 midfielder will join a Cougar soccer team looking to get back to the College Cup this coming season.
Cole tallied eight goals and 13 assists in her three varsity seasons for Monarch High School in Louisville, Colorado. She averaged 1.4 points per game and helped them to 22 wins over that span. She had just one assist this past season but was a solid piece on defense for the Coyotes.
The Cougars finished 6-3-3 last season, a year after making a run to the College Cup and dropping the semi-final match against #1 seeded North Carolina 2-1. Cole joins returning starters Elaily Hernandez-Repreza, Sydney Pulver, and Marin Whieldon while Jayla Land, Macy Formanek, Lindsey Saad, Audrey Weir, and Amanda Marroquin are all incoming as well. The Cougars also added Sydney Studer from Oregon State.
The coaching staff will be looking to replace the 12 game starter Makamae Gomera-Stevens after she was drafted by the Houston Dash this past spring. She accounted for four goals and one assist in those 12 games.
