Good afternoon, Coug fans!
The day has come. Today, Washington State football dropped their matchups for the 2024/2025 season, and have specified who we’re playing at home/away.
There were certain things we knew going into next season- that the Apple Cup against University of Washington would be on “neutral” ground next year, being played at Lumen Field in Seattle. It was also announced that WSU and Texas Tech would play each other in a Mike Leach memorial game, and we knew we’d play Oregon State. Along with the teams we already had scheduled as “non-conference” opponents, it was just down to putting together the last few pieces of the puzzle.
And here we have it.
At home, the Cougs will host Portland State, San Jose State, Texas Tech, Utah State, Wyoming, and Hawai’i. They’ll visit Oregon State, San Diego State, Boise State, New Mexico State, and Fresno State, and will be heading to Seattle as previously mentioned.
We knew ahead of time that WSU would kick things off on August 31st against PSU, we learned the Texas Tech game was slotted for September 7th at home, which was the original date of the San Diego State game- but that will be moved to a different day, announced later along with the rest of the Mountain West schedule. We also knew that the “neutral” Apple Cup would be played on September 14th.
The Pre-Thanksgiving game, which used to be the artist formerly known as the traditional Apple Cup, will now be occupied by a team we have a much nicer relationship with: the Battle of the Besties, Oregon State on November 23rd.
How... are we feeling?
