Let’s start with the bad news off the top: It’s been a rough week for Baxter. He’s fighting through some serious pain, and he’s been diagnosed with a degenerative disc disorder. That means he is on “cage rest” for the next four weeks, and we are hoping he doesn’t have to get surgery after that.
So what we are saying is, if you need any extra motivation to beat USC tonight, win it for Baxter, Cougs.
Back to the beer: Baxter’s piece is brief this week. He is going with Georgetown Bodhizafa, and IPA from those guys that you almost certainly know for brewing the ubiquitous Manny’s Pale Ale.
You may notice that this is offered in a can, a serious change for Georgetown. The brewery was draft-only for many years, but recently beganputting beer in cans (much better for tailgating). Bodhizafa is a tropical, citrus-y IPA and certainly one of the best IPAs you can grab off the shelf at a wide range of locations.
If you’ve only had Manny’s from Georgetown, I highly recommend branching out. They’ve been doing really well, kicking out a broad range of styles. Some are offered in cans, but many more are still draft-only. If you are sitting down at a bar and see a name next to Georgetown that you haven’t heard before, go ahead and check it out.
That’s what Baxter and I are having for this very large football game, what will you be drinking?
*Sorry for no video this week, not much time to fit it in with my work travel schedule.
