Even though it's a weekend where we celebrate Ol' Crimson, WSU is going with all-anthracite, perhaps trying to channel some of the good juju from the last time WSU welcomed a highly ranked team to Martin Stadium. That one turned out ok. Also, maybe we just needed something to look clean next to Oregon's highliters?
As is de rigueur, the former WSU star (and his Golden State Warriors teammates) received his championship ring on the opening night of the NBA season. Seems as though he likes it!
I know we're all focused on Oregon and GameDay, but in case you're trying to plan your TV schedule for the following weekend.
In what was their biggest match of the season, the Cougs couldn't quite catch up to the Trojans. After soaring as high as No. 7 in the rankings, the WSU Cougars have fallen on hard times, losing their third in a row -- two of them to ranked opponents.
It's WSU first appearance on an over-the-air network this season and will follow the UW-Colorado game. Thank you to Fox, who has seen the gospel on four hour kickoff windows. Once again, superb time for kickoff to travel into and out of Pullman for the day only.
This is becoming a small tradition for the away games in Oregon with this now being the fourth time in the last five years WSU has worn the all-white combination in the Beaver State. The only exception was when they went ketchup bottle in 2015 against the Ducks. This is the third-straight trip to Corvallis where the Cougs will go icy.
The Cougs last wore this combo in their big win over the Oregon State Beavers in 2017. I think I speak for all of us when I say /fire emoji
A nice, early October Saturday of watching football all day, capped off by the Cougs v. Beavs. Maybe they'll have gotten rid of that damn chainsaw sound by then!
This is a first for the combo! Standard white away top but white helmet and anthracite pants, I'm assuming to try and capture some 2017 magic.
The Cougs are now ranked 14th in the country, better than at any point in the last 25 years. They have yet to lose, let alone tie, so far this season. They have only one game this week and it's their toughest test yet: away against #8 UCLA. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network so duel screen it on Friday.
